With rapid changes, sometimes you think My goodness, what am I doing?
I am doing all different sorts of things behind the scenes. It’s no small stuff either. There’s transferring to university, starting my new Journal Publication Muslim Women Love Funds, setting up its paired podcast, and some other things.
I just happened to read quote about how in the beginning of something new, you feel that overwhelming yet exciting feeling.
I get it more than ever since I am leaning into that ambitious side of me.
My priority right now is master time management. I haven’t delved too far into this because I did not like micromanage my life. I like to keep things free and open. However, that is a limiting belief. Time management is essential I am finding and it does not have to be a micromanaging anything at all.
Without time management, I am finding that I am getting a lot of things done, but somehow nothing at all done. I hit all of my marks with posting and heading to my culinary internship. At the same time, things without deadline that involves others eat dust. For example, I haven’t worked out in two days. It is also 14 minutes past two in the morning.
My plan is to get this together because I am aware that this ambitious woman dream team of one, and soon of many, will thank me for getting it together now.
Check-In Chat
For this check-in, tell me how you manage your time. Lord knows I need ideas. Also, I would love to hear what you lovely folks are working on!
I am going to answer this question in the community chat myself. The only people who can access community chat are other paid members, so it is more intimate and filled with like-minded, supportive people.
If you want to share it in the chat community, great! If you don’t, also great! It is up to you and there is no pressure at all.
✎ Journal Prompts!
Let’s deep dive into what we are doing and how we are doing it. Time management is not off the table this time in this journal section. After completing this, we can head over to some action steps that will help take action on what we find.
What does aligned time management look like for me?
If I had complete control over my schedule, what would an ideal week look like?
What are 3 small things I can do today to move toward the future I want?
What am I feeling right now about all the new things I am taking on?
What limiting beliefs do I have about time management, and where did they come from?
What tasks feel urgent, and what tasks feel important? Am I prioritizing correctly?
What part of my journey am I most proud of right now, and how can I celebrate that in a way that aligns with my goals?
🎯 Action Steps
Let’s bring it home!
🗂️ Take inventory of your natural day, week, or month.
Now, this is something I managed to do… and I loved it! Throughout the week, day, or month, just simply write down what you do at what time. No need to adjust, just write what you naturally do.
You start to see patterns and will be better equipped to see what time management schedule will work best for you. The awareness is everything.
For example, my day currently would look like:
Woke up at 5:40 to pray and get ready for my internship.
Finished getting ready and left at 7:00ish
Started my shift at 8am and left at 2.
Got back at 2:45 and slept until 5:00pm
Then, my day goes on like that. Try it out!
📌 Find out what is important to you and batch it!
Listen, listen, listen. This is a thing I am going to try with you guys. So, basically, the concept is to find what’s important to you at the moment. For me, the most important things are my career, academics, and health.
These are going to be your priorities apparently. Lol. Help me. We are figuring this out together. We’ve made it this far.
Okay. So, we have our priorities. Now, we are going to find similar tasks within these priorities and batch them together.
So, like for me, right now I am batch recording Muslim Girls Love Funds Podcast. I want to make at least 12 episodes in the bank before I launch it.
Instead of switching tasks, lump the chunks of time for related activities.
That’s what I got for you for this section. Let’s try it out!
Thank you so much for being here. We are ever evolving!
Sincerely, Sincerely,
Your Author Bayinnah
